Mike Nimmo

President

Founded by industry veteran Mike Nimmo, Metal Manufacturing Inc. has been shaping the steel fabrication landscape for over three decades. In the year 2000, the business was incorporated, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey. Landing a significant deal with a large automotive company in 2006 catapulted the growth beyond expectations.

During this time, funds were used to broaden our capacities in the Fabrication Market Place which included not only state-of-the-art fabrication equipment but also highly experienced personnel throughout the organization. Currently in 2024, Metal Manufacturing Inc offers dozens of solid paying jobs within the local community, our creative Manufacturing experience along with unsurpassed customer commitment has allowed strong growth which we continue building our reputation on.

Derek Fellows

Vice President of Operations

Derek has over 30 years of experience in the manufacturing industry and joined the MTL manufacturing team in January of 2021. Key initiatives that Derek focuses on are implementing safe work environments, maintaining efficient work practices, and cost-effective systems that build the future needs of the organization while focusing on quality initiatives with a passion for supporting on-time deliveries to the customer. Outside of work, Derek enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family.

Ray Ruiz

Director of Finance

Ray has over 25 years of experience in business finance and account management. He brings experience in a broad range of industries, including retail, industrial, and service-related companies. Ray is experienced in many aspects of finance and account management, including financial reporting, budgeting, process improvement, and financial modeling and analysis. He has been instrumental in the implementation of a Job Shop inventory and process management system to streamline operations and fully integrate quoting, manufacturing, inventory, and accounting.

Steve Putman

Engineering Manager

Steve originally started his career building houses, he entered into the Fabrication Industry in the early 90’s as a Welder Fabricator. Working through the ranks of Supervision, Steve took on an Engineering role from which point he gained extensive knowledge in the Drafting and Programming arena. Steve’s ability to recognize cost savings throughout the production process due to his extensive background experience has made him a key member of the organization.

General Manager

Marine Veteran with over 15 years of diverse management experience and over 7 years in the welding and fabricating industry while still driving teams to success. When not at work leading a team, Matt enjoys spending time with his son and anything to do with the outdoors.

Nicole Nelson

Office Manager

My name is Nicole, and I’ve been in the manufacturing industry for about 11 years! I’ve taken on a lot of roles over the years from material handling, to inventory, to purchasing and customer service. One thing I love about this industry is that there’s always something new to learn about. I spend my free time at home with my family, we try and get outdoors as much as possible, especially in the summertime.

Michael Edwards

Director of Quality

Mike has over 30 years of experience in the metal forming industry and joined the MTL Manufacturing Team in January 2025. He applies his experience in Lean Initiatives, Process Improvement and Quality Management to meet our customers’ requirements. He is continuously improving the effectiveness of our Quality Systems while being committed to ensuring the delivery of reliable and defect-free products. Outside of work Mike enjoys playing golf and spending time with family.

Bob Kletzke

Fabrication Operations Manager

Bob comes from multiple years of Operations Management in the OEM Manufacturing marketplace, he has extensive knowledge in process development and implementation throughout key areas of sheet steel processing.

Tomas Viveros

1st Shift Plant Supervisor

Tomas has been in the Welding / Fabrication industry throughout his working career. Thomas has a true commitment to shipping a quality product on time along with an ability to lead a team through stringent production schedules.

Doug Grover

1st Shift Welding Supervisor

Years of tank manufacturing and leadership in tank manufacturing. Strong drive to help coworkers grow in the workforce to better themselves. Outside of work he likes to hunt, fish, camp, ride his Harley and spend time with his family.

Trent Nimmo

Assembly Plant Supervisor

Dedicated and driven, Trent has spent the majority of his career working with Fortunate 50 companies, spending several years in front-line positions as well as leadership positions in manufacturing and distribution with both Lowe's as well as Dollar General in Janesville, WI. Trent also brings with him five years of salaried retail management experience with Walmart in the Rockford area. A Janesville native, I’m excited to be a part of a team-oriented company local to his roots.

Cheryl Tshudy

Shipping and Receiving Coordinator / INV Specialist

Cheryl has worked in a factory setting for many years. In her last job she was in charge of the quality/containment area for a large automotive supplier. On the weekends, she enjoys camping, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

Robert Peterson

2nd Shift Welding Supervisor

Robert has been in the manufacturing industry since 2002, from material handling to custom fabrication. He has welded mild steel from 24 gage to 3 inch plate.  Also Aluminum, and stainless steel for museums, to dump trucks. Robert has also worked with CNC break presses, plasma cutters, lasers, shears, punch presses, and much more.

Operations Manager, Coating Division

As Operations Manager of the Coating Division at MTL Manufacturing, Dennis McDougall brings a strategic mindset and hands-on leadership to streamline operations and drive quality. With a background in marketing and growth strategy and a strong economic and business development foundation, Dennis excels at aligning production workflows with customer needs and company goals.

Drawing from years of experience in multi-channel marketing and cross-functional team leadership, Dennis focuses on operational excellence—optimizing processes, enhancing team performance, and ensuring the highest standards in manufacturing solutions. His problem-solving approach and commitment to continuous improvement make him a key driver of innovation and efficiency at MTL Manufacturing.
